The Clean Air Partnership is a registered charity, founded in 2000. Our mission is to work with partners to achieve clean air, facilitate the exchange of ideas, advance change and promote and coordinate implementation of actions that improve local air quality.

Spring into Environmental Events

With the Spring season finally in fully swing, this week, we at Clean Air Partnership will be focusing on Earth Day which is happening tomorrow (April 22nd). This article will highlight some great green events happening this week in celebration of Earth Day, as well as other green events happening during the rest of the month of April.

  • Explore the GTA through Discovery Walks, a self-guided program that allows you to explore the GTA’s ravines, parks and gardens, and beaches and neighbourhoods. Each Discovery Walk is equipped with informative signage to help you experience an area’s heritage and environment. For a full list of areas that can be explored through the Discovery Walks, click here. A full map is also provided by the City of Toronto, which can be found here.
  • Take part in Earth Day activities tomorrow with the Toronto Botanical Garden. Enjoy the features of Toronto’s Botanical Garden, and then participate in the free Public Planting Day event. They are also providing and “Ice Storm Open House” event to provide discussion for home owners looking to understand their rights and responsibilities regarding fallen or damaged trees.
  • For those looking to get physically involved and get their hands dirty, Toronto is hosting its annual “Clean Toronto Together” event to promote a city-wide spring clean up. The city is hosting two events this weekend to promote the spring clean up. Friday, April 25, is Corporate & School Clean Up day, and Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, is Community Clean Up day. There are many more events to come through this week of Earth Day (or Earth Week), and we will do our best to highlight them as the week unfolds. Until then, enjoy this beautiful spring weather and get out and participate with your community.
