The Clean Air Partnership is a registered charity, founded in 2000. Our mission is to work with partners to achieve clean air, facilitate the exchange of ideas, advance change and promote and coordinate implementation of actions that improve local air quality.

We’re LIVE!

Well, after several weeks of toiling away, it’s finally time to get this thing started!

Here at Clean Air Partnership, we’re very excited to enter into the social media world to provide residents of Ontario with a one-stop-shop where they can see all the fantastic actions being undertaken in the GTHA to reduce energy use, green our communities and improve the quality of life for all residents.

Here you can read about actions, programs and events concerning everything from active transportation to local food to energy-saving initiatives to urban forestry actions, all in an easy-to-read, entertaining format.  We hope to inform you, to make you want to visit communities outside your own and, most importantly, to illustrate the leadership role being taken by GTHA municipalities, community groups, businesses and residents with regards to creating a more sustainable region.

Last week, I took advantage of the incredible spring-like weather and headed out to Pickering, Ontario for what I hope will be the first of many sustainable “Day-Cations”.  What I saw in Pickering was nothing short of inspiring, and I feel that it is a perfect way to kick this blog off.  Next week I’ll be showcasing a different aspect of Pickering’s sustainable actions each day as we lead up to their Sustainable Pickering Day on March 31.  I hope you enjoy reading the posts as much as I enjoyed writing them, and I hope to see you at Sustainable Pickering Day as well!

Pickering City Hall: My first of what I hope are many destinations throughout the GTHA.

Until then, you should follow me on Twitter, and if you have any recommendations for future posts, email me at blog (@) cleanairpartnership.org

Cheers

Justin
